Selling your Static Caravan? Get the Best Price

If you plan to sell your static caravan you will undoubtedly want to get the best price. Whether you plan to add some dino decking (composite decking), give your caravan a fresh coat of paint or simply add some new curtains, getting the best price is important. Let’s take a look at how you can get the best price for your static caravan:

The Condition of  your Caravan

Is your caravan in good condition? Does it need a bit of TLC or are you happy with the way it looks right now? If your caravan is in good condition you’re more likely to get a good price for it. Consider the caravan’s structure, whether it’s completely waterproof, and if it’s warm. You may also want to look at re-doing the outside of the caravan so it looks as good as new. Don’t forget to take a look at all of the pipes that lead into and out of the caravan. Make sure they are all in good working order.

Heating

Is your caravan double glazed and does the heating work well enough? Caravans can get quite cold, especially if they are quite close to the sea. Make sure all of the windows are in good condition and they are no draughts coming through them. You may also want to be on the lookout for damp as this can affect the selling price. Deal with any damp that you find, and take steps to ensure your caravan no longer has an issue with it.

The Size of your Caravan

If you have quite a big caravan you may want to make it look even bigger by moving those extra bits of furniture elsewhere. This is something you may want to do if you have a small caravan.

Exterior Structures

Caravans that come with exterior structures such as a composite deck tend to sell for more than those that do not. You can realistically add a new deck and still make a profit on your caravan. Consider putting some decking all the way around your static caravan or at least, around the front entrance. Decking just looks good, particularly if it complements the colour of your caravan.

Add a few chairs to the decking so that prospective buyers can picture themselves sitting there. Make sure you add a few potted plants if you wish and even a barbecue. You may even want to add some awning if your caravan gets a lot of sun. some awning coupled with the decking will make your caravan look very appealing to prospective buyers.

The Pitch

If your static caravan is on a good pitch you could get a better price for it. If your caravan is not situated anywhere particularly special you may want to consider moving it or making the pitch look prettier. Add some flowers to the area, perhaps some trellis and even a few chairs so it looks like you enjoy the privacy.

If your caravan is located on a particularly good pitch you may be able to negotiate a much better price. Make sure you highlight your caravan’s pitch in any sales information you have, and the caravan’s amenities too.

If your caravan is not in a good position then you may want to talk about how private it is, and that it’s ideal for those who like peace and quiet. If the caravan is close to a shop, for example, you could highlight how convenient it is to be so close to the shop. Look for any benefits that come with having a pitch in that specific position and mention them when your caravan is up for sale.
